RF Pretty Hotel (3.5 stars)
Positive
-Friendly staff
(Ruo Qing) When I waited at the lobby for the taxi to bring me to the doctor's, the staff asked me if I was feeling okay. When I returned, she asked me to rest well and sleep earlier so that I would get better soon. It was really caring of her.
-Free wifi. Allowed us to contact our parents back home.
-Good hotel service.
At 3am in the morning, it was very cold and as the temperature of the aircon is hard to control, we had to call the staff to come up to the room to help us increase the temperature. The staff was very helpful and gave fast and efficient service.
Negative:
-Insects like cockroaches crawling around the room. Moths stays put on the TV screen. Hotel guest must bring insecticide and the hotel staff did not know this happening.
- Small breakfast area and small variety of food. Breakfast is the same everyday, not worth the money. Breakfast area only had 6 tables.
- Economy rooms are of different sizes, unfair to people who pay the same amount of money but get smaller rooms.
- Air-conditioners temperature were very hard to control. After pressing a button, the temperature can increase by 8 degrees celcius. Staff also did not know how to fix it.
Raohe Night Market (4 stars)
Positive
-Large variety of clothes and local food at affordable prices. It is beneficial for us who are students and could only afford reasonable prices (not too expensive). Also, we can buy more things as there were a great variety of goods on sale.
-Stall owners are lively and friendly
They greet us with bright smiles and asked us "你们从哪里来的? 你们来毕业旅行吗?" We felt very welcomed and also well-served.
Negative
-However, there were very little dustbins and so there were a some litter on the ground, where there was nobody to clean them up.
-Very difficult to find toilets... Toilets are probably only available in restaurants nearby. People need to walk quite a distance to the nearest toilet and when their hands are dirty, they cannot wash them immediately which can spread bacteria.
Confucius Temple (4.5 stars)
- Enthusiastic tour guide. Explained about places of interest to us diligently and answer our questions with a bright smile even though we are under the heavy rain
-Interesting and realistic 4D video
Mist and water spraying effect from seats
Virtual 3D images appearing in front of our eyes
Give us a sense of excitement despite being in a temple
-Design and statues of the temple are prominent and appealing to the eye (variety of colours) , which make people enjoy going to the temple.
Negative
-Inconvenient when raining; less shelters. They should build more shelters to help to shelter visitors who did not bring their umbrellas.
-Due to time constraint, we were unable to see Confucius, which is the main purpose of us going there. We were quite disappointed as we only covered about half of the temple.
Eslite Bookstore (3.5 stars)
Positive
-Large variety of different books from different genres. We can find books that are not available in Singapore and also to our interest.
-High-technology toilet
The toilet bowl can be opened and closed on its own and you can adjust the temperature of the toilet bowl.
-Clean and quiet environment. No noise pollution that disturbs people who want to read quietly.
Negative
-Few staff around the bookstore.
No one to approach for help.
More staff could be hired to assist customers for help.
-Genres were not arranged in levels and we had to go to different levels (across from 3-5 floors) to find books. It was also quite tiring as we had to go to 3 different floors to buy books.
-Most of the books were in Chinese and we had difficulties finding English books.
Xi Men Ding (4 stars)
Positive
- Wide variety of clothes at affordable rates
Teenagers can afford them and can also find what they like there.
- Lively atmosphere
Music played loudly and people can enjoy their shopping with music. Also, the stall owners were also shouting loudly to promote their goods, which make the atmosphere lively.
Negative
- Dishonesty of stall owner. The stall owner named 2 different prices of the same product during 2 different visits to the same stall.
-Very less toilets can be found, probably found in restaurants only. Maybe toilets signs can be placed in some areas to direct us to restrooms.
